It is not often that Celtic and Chelsea are linked with the same player but there appears to be a transfer race between the two sides for a former Manchester United starlet, with Tottenham Hotspur also believed to be interested. Ange Postecoglou’s side are expected to make a splash over the coming transfer windows and considering the kind of clubs interested in the Irish winger, it is safe to say that he would be considered as a major coup.

One area that Celtic could do with more options in is their wings. Jota has done magnificently and Liel Abada looks like a brilliant prospect. But beyond them, the Hoops do not seem to have a lot of options.

James Forrest has struggled with fitness problems for over a year now and continues to be in and out of the team. Mikey Johnston has had his injury problems as well and they have appeared to stall his development. And Karamoko Dembele has been out with an injury since pre-season.

As reported by The Telegraph (via HITC), Deji Sotona is set to return to the UK, after having left Manchester United for Nice in 2020. Chelsea are believed to be battling with Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur for the winger’s signature.

Celtic battle Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in Sotona race

It is safe to say that Sotona is very highly rated judging by the fact that some of the biggest clubs in the world are being linked with him.

The 19-year-old Irish winger left Manchester United for Nice in 2020 but it is safe to say that things have not worked out for him there and he is believed to be looking for a move back to the UK.

If Celtic are able to sign him, it has the potential to be an incredible addition to the squad. But it is safe to say that the race for his signature is very tough.
