Ange Postecoglou delivers

When Celtic brought in Postecoglou as their manager in the summer, there were a lot of questions and doubts. After it had looked like the club were set to bring in Eddie Howe, many fans felt disappointed with the appointment.

Postecoglou had enjoyed considerable success at club level in both Australia and Japan, and at the international level with the Australian national team. But at that point of time, he did not have much experience in Europe.

It is safe to say that Postecoglou did not take too long to become a fan favourite. Whether it was the style of football or his individual charisma, he has built a connection with the support very quickly.

And now, he has delivered in his first big game at Celtic, winning his first piece of silverware with the club in the process of doing so.

He does feel like a manager though who will already be thinking about what is next. And one can only hope that the answer to that is more trophies.

Celtic show their resilience again

Celtic have played some beautiful football through the course of this season but at the same time, they have also shown the ability to grind out a result and the resilience to make a comeback.

Last season, the players might have put their heads down after conceding the first goal in the final despite having control for most of the game and let it run away from them.

But Postecoglou’s side did the complete opposite. Celtic replied immediately and got their goal back. And then 20 minutes later, they would go ahead, holding on for the rest of the game.

Sometimes, resilience is the most important thing that a Champion side needs and Celtic are showing that they have it in spades at the moment.
