It is safe to say that some of the refereeing decisions have not gone Celtic’s way in recent times. Last night’s game against Ross County was a great example of that. There were several times when opposition players did not get booked for challenges that they could have and perhaps should have been. On the other hand, Carl Starfelt was shown a very harsh red card for the Hoops.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that refereeing decisions have gone against Celtic. In fact, it is one of the issues that is brought up most often by the club’s supporters.
Ange Postecoglou though does not seem like a manager who will complain about the referees’ decisions not going their way and likes to get on with things. And that is exactly what he appears to want his players to do as well.
As reported by the Daily Mail [16/12 print edition, page 86] (via 67 Hail Hail), he said:
"“I don’t think we got the rub of the decisions tonight, a few went against us. I said to the boys we won’t complain about it, we will just win games and let that speak for itself.“A few went against us tonight but we just keep going, playing our football and keep winning. Hopefully, these things even themselves out.”"
Celtic got a huge win against Ross County
Celtic got it done against Ross County last night. For most of the game, it had looked like they were on their way to dropping points away from home.
But finally, deep into stoppage time, Anthony Ralston managed to find the back of the net in dramatic fashion to hand the Hoops all three points and an important 2-1 win.
That means that despite several injuries and refereeing decisions going against them, the Hoops have won all five of their games in the month of December till now.
The late win must have been a huge confidence boost for the side as well as they head into the Scottish League Cup final vs Hibernian this Sunday at Hampden Park.
It will be a chance for the Hoops to end their trophy drought, having not won one last season while Postecoglou has the opportunity to win his first piece of silverware in Scottish football.
