For most of the night, it had looked like Celtic were going to drop points and let the Rangers extend their lead at the top of the table. But Anthony Ralston, who has been an absolute revelation this season, came up with a winner deep in stoppage time to hand them a 2-1 victory against Ross County and all three points.

Liel Abada had gotten a goal early in the first half for Celtic and for the first 45 minutes, it had looked comfortable for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

But things took a turn in the second half as Ross County got their goal back. Carl Starfelt would then be shown a harsh red card and at times, it looked like the hosts would be the ones to find the back of the net.

Fortunately for Celtic, that did not turn out to be the case. These are the kind of results that champion teams need when things are not going their way. This should work as a major confidence booster for the Hoops ahead of the Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian on Sunday.

What a season Anthony Ralston is having. At the start of the campaign, not many people would have expected him to be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s first-team picture.

But a lack of right-backs at the club back then meant that he got a run of games. And it is safe to say that he took the opportunity with both hands.

Ralston has been one of the most consistent performers for Celtic this season and got a massive goal here to hand them three very important points. Without his goal, the gap with the Rangers would have extended to six points.
