Celtic are expected to make a splash in the January transfer window with it being clear that the club need to make additions to their squad, with depth and injuries being two of their biggest problems this season. Thus, it is only natural that the Hoops have been linked with several players over the course of the last month or so. Now it remains to be seen which players they do end up making a move for.

Midfield is an area that Celtic need to strengthen in at this point of time as Postecoglou does not have a lot of options in the middle of the park.

And one player that the club have been linked with extensively is Gremio midfielder Fernando Henrique. The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder could possibly be on the way out soon with the club getting relegated to Serie B recently.

But it looks like the rumours of the Hoops’ interest in the player might be wide of the mark. As reported by Football Scotland, Celtic are not interested in bringing Henrique to Parkhead.

Celtic are reportedly not interested in the Brazilian midfielder

Henrique has been highly rated while coming through the ranks in Brazil but has recently found game time harder to come by at Gremio.

Also, it does look like he might be a bit away from being ready to play for a club like Celtic and needs to develop his game more before he can make the jump to Europe. A stint at another club in Brazil might be the right step for him at this point of time.

On the other hand, rumours have suggested that Celtic are closing in on moves for both Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi, both of whom are capable of playing as midfielders. Thus, a move for Henrique does not seem likely at this point of time.
