Celtic have one of the biggest games of their season coming up soon as they will take to the Hampden Park pitch against Hibernian in the League Cup final next Sunday. This will be a huge opportunity for Ange Postecoglou to win his first piece of silverware in Scottish football while the Hoops will get the chance to bring an end to their trophy drought, having finished the previous campaign without one.

Of course, things are not expected to be easy for them. Hibernian started the season in brilliant fashion but their form has faded away in recent times. But they still have a lot of quality in their squad and beat the Rangers convincingly in the semi-final.

Celtic are not in the best shape either, with several players picking up injuries in recent weeks, leaving Postecoglou scrambling for options, especially up top, with Kyogo, Jota, Giorgos Giakoumakis, James Forrest and Albian Ajeti all out of action at the same time.

The manager has not ruled out Kyogo for the League Cup final though, which is a huge boost for Celtic heading into the big game. It looks like the Japanese star could be in a race against time to get fit. Alison Conroy tweeted out comments from the manager:

Celtic handed potential Kyogo boost before League Cup final

Originally, there had been fears that Kyogo could be out for a long time but it turns out that that is not the case.

It does look like Kyogo will be back in action for Celtic in the near future. What remains to be seen is whether he will be fit in time to feature in the League Cup final against Hibernian.

One thing that we have learned from Postecoglou’s time at the club though is that he can spring selection surprises from time to time. And hopefully he will have one up his sleeve for next Sunday.
