Celtic were placed in an incredibly tough group in the Europa League with Bayer Leverkusen, 3rd in the Bundesliga right now, Real Betis, 3rd in La Liga right now, and Ferencvaros, 2nd in the Hungarian league right now. And it is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou’s side gave a great account of themselves all things considered. They got 9 points from their group games and ultimately finished third.

If they had just managed to hold on to their leads against Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, they would have even topped their group. But in Europe, it is always about those fine margins.

Fortunately, Celtic still have European football to look forward to as they will now be playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League. And now they have learned their opponents for the knockout round play-off draw as well.

Celtic will be facing FK Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Can Celtic win the UEFA Europa Conference League?

It is safe to say that winning it is going to be very tough for the Hoops as there are still several strong teams involved in the competition. And thus, there is the scope for some very interesting ties as well.

Of course, before any of that, the first step for Celtic will be getting past FK Bodø/Glimt in the knockout round play-off, which won’t be easy.

The Hoops have already shown in the Europa League group stage that they have the ability to compete with any team. They were minutes away from getting a win against Bayer Leverkusen away in Germany. And they got a 3-2 win against Real Betis, who are in the middle of a tremendous season, despite not playing their best players. The game away in Seville had also been a thrilling affair, which had ended 4-3 in favour of the Spanish side. Thus, the fans must be happy with what they have seen in Europe till now.
