Bodo/Glimt star makes admission after Celtic draw

Celtic gave a brilliant account of themselves during their Europa League group stage run despite being drawn in a very tough group with Real Betis, Bayer Leverkusen and Ferencvaros. While the Hoops did get 9 points, it was not enough and they could only finish in third. They still have European football to look forward to though in the form of the Europa Conference League, where they will face Bodo/Glimt in the knockout round play-off.

It is safe to say that this is not an easy tie for Celtic by any stretch of the imagination. The Norwegian side have been very impressive this season, both domestically and in Europe.

It was just recently that they won the 2021 Norwegian league title and they did brilliantly in the Europa Conference League group stage as well, even winning 6-1 against Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma in one of the games. Thus, it is safe to say that Celtic have their work cut out for them.

The Bodo Glimt players appear to be excited by the draw as well. As reported by TV2, Ulrik Saltnes said:

"“It is a good draw for us. It’s a fun away game at a cool stadium, and another big club coming to Aspmyra.”"

Celtic have been handed a tough Europa Conference League draw

It is safe to say that Bodo/Glimt are one of the toughest sides that Celtic could have been drawn against and this is expected to be a close game to say the least.

But, following the club’s performances in the Europa League, Celtic should confident of their chances against any team.

They got a 3-2 win against Real Betis despite not playing their strongest team and the reverse fixture was a close 4-3 defeat away in Seville. On the other hand, they were minutes away from getting an incredible away win in Germany against Bayer Leverkusen. It is important to remember that those two teams sit at third in the La Liga and Bundesliga respectively.

The Hoops also won both of their games against Ferencvaros, who currently sit at second in the Hungarian league. Thus, Ange Postecoglou’s side are not unfamiliar to a tough night in Europe.
