For Celtic, every Scottish Premiership game is important right now as it looks like things could get very tight in the league. There is not a lot separating them with the Rangers at the moment although the month of December could prove to be very vital. Not only do the Hoops have a number of games coming thick and fast but the side are dealing with injuries to several of their first-team regulars.

Thus, how Ange Postecoglou’s side navigate through this month could end up defining their 2021/22 campaign.

Despite their injury problems, Celtic have done quite well in December till now, winning all three of their games at this point. But as we all know, things can change very quickly in football and they must aim to keep up the good results as long as they can.

On the other hand, Celtic are not the only side struggling with injuries at the moment. As reported by the Daily Record, Motherwell manager, Graham Alexander, admitted that his side had their fair share of problems as well:

"“We are a little bit bare to be honest. We have a few injury issues from last week and previous weeks so we might have to change players and a little bit of what we have been doing recently because of the personnel.“We will give those players every chance of being fit for Sunday but I can’t see it being the same team this week as it was last.”"

Celtic need to navigate through December with several injuries

December could be the toughest phase of the season for Celtic and it remains to be seen how they navigate through it.

Coming into the season, the Hoops would have known that they do not have the deepest squad and that has proven to be their Achilles” Heel till now.

January will provide them a big chance to rectify this issue and add strength to their squad. The club have been linked with several players in recent weeks like Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and others.

Now, it remains to be seen if they can get deals over the line and how quickly. One thing is for sure, the upcoming few games will be very vital to their campaign.
