Celtic reach transfer agreement for brilliant Japanese star

Celtic are expected to make some moves in the upcoming January transfer window and get them done quickly as well. The suggestion has been that the club want to get the new signings in as early as possible so that they can be a part of their winter training camp and get accustomed to Ange Postecoglou’s system of football before taking to the pitch. And to be honest, that is a solid plan.

Celtic have been linked with quite a few J1 League stars over the past few weeks and that was to be expected, considering the amount of time Postecoglou spent in Japan before arriving at Parkhead.

The incredible success of Kyogo since joining the club must have also given them enough encouragement and with the J1 League season over, January might be the best time to make moves happen.

And it does look like the Hoops are already taking steps in the right direction. As reported by Hochi, a general agreement has been reached between Celtic and Kawasaki Frontale for the transfer of Reo Hatate.

Celtic have reached transfer agreement for Hatate

Hatate has been one of the standout performers in the J1 League this season and now, it looks like he is set to make the move to Europe.

One of Hatate’s biggest strengths is his versatility. He can play on the wings as well as at left-back despite being a natural midfielder. And that could be very important to Celtic, who do not have a lot of depth in several positions across the pitch.

Hatate can prove to be a great signing for Celtic, if they do manage to get the deal over the line. At 24 years of age, he is also expected to get better moving forward and Postecoglou might be the man to get the best out of him.
