Celtic’s Achilles’ Heel right now is their squad depth. And with several of their top players out injured. They could end up struggling badly in December, although they have managed to get wins in all three games this month till now. One can only hope that Ange Postecoglou is able to navigate through the upcoming games successfully, which include a Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian.

For that game, Celtic could be without Jota and Kyogo, both of whom appear to have hamstring injuries at the moment and could be out for a while. That is a massive blow but it is what it is.

Celtic do have a big opportunity in January though to improve their squad depth, which could help them avoid a similar situation in the future.

The three players that the Hoops are believed to have on their radar are Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi. And as reported by Football Scotland, Celtic are aiming to finalise the deals before the upcoming Glasgow Derby against the Rangers on January 2. But it is unlikely that any of them would be available to play a part in that game.

Celtic aiming to get triple transfer deal done early in January

It appears that Celtic are aiming to get the triple transfer deal over the line early in the January transfer window. And that is definitely the right path to take for the Hoops.

It will also allow the players to come in and take part in the club’s winter training camp, which will give them some time to get adjusted to Postecoglou’s style of football.

Of course, none of the deals are over the line yet and that is the first thing that Celtic need to do before bringing in the players and thinking about their adjustment to their new surroundings and teammates.
