Neil Lennon enjoyed a lot of success at Celtic as the club’s manager over his two stints. But unfortunately, his time in the managerial hot seat will always be associated with the 2020/21 campaign, when the Hoops had the chance to create history and win ten straight Scottish league titles but ended up finishing 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership title race.

It was one of the most disappointing seasons in the club’s history and Lennon ended up departing Parkhead in the middle of the campaign. It is safe to say that it must not have done his reputation as a manager much good.

Since leaving Celtic, Lennon has been out of management and has even admitted in the past that he would like to get back in the dugout soon. And now, it looks like there might be an opportunity for him to do so.

As reported by the Mirror [08/12/21 print edition p. 51] (via 67 Hail Hail), Lennon is a candidate for the Ipswich Town job.

Ipswich Town are currently in League One of English football and have only recently parted ways with Paul Cook as manager.

And it appears that Lennon is someone who is in the running to potentially become the next manager of the League One side.

The former Celtic manager already has prior experience of English football, both on the pitch and in the dug out. He has played for several clubs in England and has managed Bolton Wanderers in the past, after his first stint at Parkhead had come to an end.

On the other hand, Celtic appear to have found a long-term manager in the form of Ange Postecoglou, who has done a brilliant job since coming in and has become a fan favourite in a very short span of time.
