There have been a lot of transfer rumours surrounding Celtic recently with most of them linking the club with players from foreign leagues, particularly the J1 League. But that does not mean that there are not good deals to be made in the Scottish Premiership itself and Ange Postecoglou’s side have been linked with a Dundee United star in recent days. Could a future move be on the cards?

Defensive midfield is an area that Celtic might need to make more additions in moving forward. They have the likes of Nir Bitton, James McCarthy and Ismaila Soro capable of playing in that role, but only the Israeli international has been able to impress recently.

Jeando Fuchs is someone that Celtic have been linked with over the past few days though. The Cameroon international’s current deal with Dundee United is set to run out next summer and it is believed that there is quite a bit of interest in his signature.

As reported by The Courier, commenting on the situation, Dundee United manager Tam Courts said:

"“Even from Jeando’s performance today you can see he is a top player not just for us but in this league.“I have always gone on record as saying if any players, particularly top performing ones, have aspirations to get to the top level then the types of club you mentioned will naturally be interested.“Jeando is a very focused guy and our relationship is really strong.“He likes to do his talking on the pitch so there is not much more I can say on that.”"

Would Fuchs be a good addition for Celtic?

Fuchs could prove to be a decent signing for Celtic. He already has experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership and will also be available on a free transfer next summer unless he ends up extending his current deal with Dundee United before that.

There is believed to be quite a bit of interest in his signature though, with the Rangers also linked as well as clubs from around Europe.

Thus, it remains to be seen if the Hoops do end up making a move for him in the future. They have already been linked with a couple of midfielders in recent times though in the form of Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi. Now, let’s see if they can pull off these moves in January.
