Celtic’s biggest problem this season have been injuries. When they have had a fit squad, they have done very well. Unfortunately, that has not been the case very often though. And with the lack of depth in certain positions, Ange Postecoglou has a lot of worries right now. It was just in the recent game against Hearts that Jota, Stephen Welsh and Anthony Ralston were all forced off the pitch.

And while the 3-0 win against Dundee United was a very impressive result, Celtic were handed another injury problem with James Forrest having to come off at half-time.

Naturally, that is a massive worry for the club. Forrest has had his fair share of injury problems in recent years and has spent significant time on the sidelines. It was just recently that he had returned to the pitch.

There appears to be some hope though that it might not be a very serious problem and the substitution appears to have been a precaution more than anything. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Postecoglou told BBC Radio Scotland:

"“We will just wait and see. He felt a bit tight in his hamstring. We decided that with the game the way it was going it was better to take him off at half-time.“It was good for Liel [Abada] to get out there as well. I don’t know if it’s anything serious. But it was more of a precaution than anything else.”"

The hope will be that it is nothing serious and Forrest will be back on the pitch soon. If he is not though, Celtic might be serious trouble here.

Jota was just recently injured and is expected to be out for a while. And if Forrest has to spend time on the sidelines as well, that would leave Celtic with just Mikey Johnston and Liel Abada as options on the wings.

Neither of them have been in great form in recent times and Johnston’s injury history is well known as well. Thus, it is safe to say that the Hoops find themselves in a sticky situation right now, especially in the month of December when games are set to come thick and fast.
