It is safe to say that Celtic have never quite been able to replace Kieran Tierney since he left in the summer of 2019 to join Arsenal in a club record deal. And even there, he proved himself to be a top player and has silverware to his name. On the other hand, several players have featured at left-back for the Hoops over the past few seasons but nobody has been able to nail down the starting spot.

As a result, Celtic are expected to dip into the transfer market once again, and go after a left-back in the upcoming January transfer window.

On the other hand, the former Celtic left-back has been facing problems of his own at Arsenal. He started the season as a regular starter but has been left on the bench as an unused substitute on several occasions recently, with Mikel Arteta deciding to start with Nuno Tavares instead.

And Arsenal legend, Martin Keown, appeared to be concerned by the situation and feels that Tierney might not hang around for long if he does not play regular football. As talkSPORT tweeted out:

Could the former Celtic star be on his way out of Arsenal in the future?

Tierney has not played a lot of football this season till now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 8 appearances and featured for 684 minutes on the pitch.

What would perhaps be even more concerning is the fact that the former Celtic star has not even been brought off the bench in recent games.

Of course, we are still not even halfway through the season and with the amount of quality that Tierney has, it would not be a big surprise to see him win his place back in their first-team in the near future. But similarly, if he does not do so, it would not be a shock to see him leave the club either as he is not someone who would be satisfied with sitting on the bench.
