Celtic might have come out of the game against Hearts with all three points but the victory did not taste as sweet as it normally would have considering the fact that three players had to come off injured for the Hoops. Ange Postecoglou has a lot of thinking to do now, with Jota, Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh all forced off the pitch in the midweek game.

The biggest blow out of the three is certainly Jota. While Celtic have like-for-like replacements for both Ralston and Welsh, the same cannot be said about Jota.

Also, the Portuguese winger had been in magnificent form recently and had been the standout player for Celtic for the past several weeks.

Thus, there is no doubt that Postecoglou will have a tough time replacing Jota in his starting XI, especially with the games coming thick and fast in the month of December. One can only hope that the winger has not picked up a serious injury and is back as soon as possible.

Celtic: 3 ways Ange Postecoglou can replace injured Jota

Here are three ways Ange Postecoglou could replace Jota in the starting XI after the Portuguese star was injured against Hearts:

Not too long ago, Mikey Johnston was considered as the next big thing at Celtic. And he had impressed with his performances to the point where many believed he could be a 20 goals-a-season winger for the club.

Things have not gone as expected though as a series of injuries have seen him spend the majority of his time on the sidelines over the past few years.

Now, he appears to back to full fitness though and has made several appearances recently. And with Jota out injured, if Postecoglou decided to go for a like-for-like replacement by bringing in a left winger, Johnston would be the man to look towards.
