Celtic are certainly in a good spot right now, having won nine of their previous eleven games across all competitions. Ange Postecoglou’s side are looking like the team in form in Scottish football right now. But then, the Rangers still hold a lead over them in the Scottish Premiership title race and the Hoops will need a win against Hearts at Parkhead to keep up the pressure on the Ibrox side.

Celtic should be confident of their chances heading into the game but then, they will also know that Hearts have done incredibly well this season till now as well.

They currently sit at third in the Premiership table and if they get a win against Celtic, they will go above them. Thus, this is a very important game for both sides to say the least.

Amidst all this, Postecoglou has managed to spring a selection surprise. Tom Rogic was expected back in the mix and he has started. But Carl Starfelt is starting as well, which is a bit unexpected to say the least. Celtic tweeted out their line up:

Starfelt returns to Celtic starting XI vs Hearts

It goes without saying that the return of Starfelt is a massive boost for Celtic. He had established himself in Postecoglou’s starting XI before an injury ruled him out of action for several weeks, and the Hoops did appear to struggle at the back without him.

On the other hand, Cameron Carter-Vickers’ complete absence from the line up might be a worry for the club. The Tottenham Hotspur loanee has been an ever present in this team ever since arriving on loan in the summer.

One can only hope that he has not picked up any injury as that will be a fresh blow for the Hoops. Let’s see how things turn out against Hearts.
