There is no secret that Celtic do not have a lot of squad depth right now. And on top of that, the club have had their fair share of injury worries as well. This has only made the task tougher for Ange Postecoglou and the work that he has done till now, considering the cards that he was dealt coming in, deserves a lot of credit to say the least. And one would be hoping that the stickiest part of the season has now passed.

There has been positive news on the pitch and off it recently. The Hoops are in a good run of form right now, having won nine of their previous eleven appearances across all competitions while drawing and losing once each. When it comes to the injury front, Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic are back in the mix from their respective injuries.

One man who has not been able to put his injury worries behind for a long time though is Christopher Jullien. And Postecoglou’s recent comments about his potential return to the pitch were worrying to say the least.

While speaking on Celtic’s official YouTube channel, when asked if there was a timeframe for Jullien’s return, Postecoglou said:

"“Nah, not really. He’s working through things, and once he gets close I’ll let you know.”"

Could the Celtic star be out for the rest of the year?

Recently, there had been suggestions that Jullien would be available for selection towards the end of November. We are already in December and that has not happened.

And judging from Postecoglou’s comments, it looks like he is not even close at the moment and there is not even a timeframe for his return. Thus, it feels very possible that he might not even return in 2021.

It remains to be seen how things turn out but if that does happen, it would mean that Jullien has not made a single appearance this year. And one has to wonder how he will perform when he does eventually return.
