Defence, Midfield and Attack

Defence: Anthony Ralston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Stephen Welsh and Josip Juranovic

Although they might have conceded thrice in midweek, the Hoops would be expected to stick with the defence from the away trip in Germany.

Once again, Juranovic did a great job at left-back and unless Celtic have a clear first-choice player there, Ange Postecoglou could continue to play the Croatian international right-back there while Ralston retains his place in the other full-back position.

Carter-Vickers and Welsh would be expected to remain the pairing in the heart of defence, with both Carl Starfelt and Christopher Jullien out of action.

Midfield: James McCarthy, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull

Midfield is an area that Celtic do not have a lot of depth in at this point of time. Tom Rogic is out of action at the moment but appears to be closing in on his return. On the other hand, Nir Bitton appeared to pick up a problem against Bayer Leverkusen and had to be substituted off.

Thus, McCarthy could end up getting the nod against Aberdeen, while McGregor and Turnbull retain their places in the team.

Wingers: Jota and Liel Abada

Jota is one of the first names on the team sheet right now. On the other flank though, Abada could come in for James Forrest.

Forrest has had his fair share of injury worries in recent times and as a result, it might be a good idea not to start him two games in quick succession. Thus, the Celtic summer signing could find himself back in the starting XI vs Aberdeen.

Striker: Kyogo

Kyogo has continued to be a big part of this team even when he is not scoring. We saw a perfect example that in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen.

And with Giorgos Giakoumakis out, one would expect Kyogo to start against Aberdeen.
