Jota has been an absolute revelation ever since arriving at Celtic on a season-long loan from Benfica in the summer. He is already one of the most important players in Ange Postecoglou’s team and seems to be getting better. The Hoops have an option to buy included in the loan deal believed to be around €7.5 million and now the big question is whether they can keep the Portuguese star at Parkhead on a permanent basis.

If the club decide to take up that option in the future, it would immediately make Jota one of the most expensive signings in Celtic history.

But with how well he has been playing since joining the club, it is almost a no-brainer at this point of time. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Jota has scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 15 appearances for the Hoops till now.

Ultimately, it might all come down to the player himself and what he wants to do in the future, and there appears to be some great news for Celtic in that regard. As reported by The Scotsman, Jota is enjoying life at the club and is understood to be open to a permanent move.

This will be a huge boost for Celtic, as several recent rumours have suggested that they are keen on keeping Jota at the club on a long-term basis and it is not hard to see why to be honest.

The Portuguese winger had enjoyed a brilliant career at the youth level but had struggled at the senior level.

It has been a completely different picture at Celtic though. He has played regular first-team football for the first time in his career and has absolutely thrived. Now, one can only hope that the Hoops end up making his loan deal permanent.
