It is not hard to see why Daizen Maeda has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent times. He has been absolutely brilliant in the ongoing season and is currently the top scorer in the J1 League, despite not being an out and out striker.

The connection with Celtic is clear, with Maeda having already played under the management of Ange Postecoglou during their time together at Yokohama F. Marinos. In fact, it was the manager who had brought him to the club.

Possessing incredible pace, stamina, good movement, the ability to finish with both feet and an understanding of Postecoglou’s style of football already, Maeda could almost be the perfect signing for Celtic in the January transfer window.

Also, with the success that Kyogo has enjoyed at Celtic, ever since joining the club in the summer, they must be much more open to and excited about the prospect of bringing in players from the J1 League now.

Jordan Larsson

Being the son of Celtic legend Henrik Larsson, Jordan is another player whose connection with the Hoops is not hard to understand.

In fact, he has been linked with a move to Celtic multiple times in the past but it has never quite happened.

This time though, the club might have a big chance of making it happen if they wanted to, as it looks like Larsson could be on his way out of Spartak Moscow in January, after struggling for form this season.

He was absolutely brilliant in the previous campaign and had even been linked with a potential move to Borussia Dortmund not too long ago. But things have gone in completely the opposite direction this time around, and the forward is yet to score or assist for the club in the Russian Premier Liga in the current campaign. Let’s see what the future holds.
