Midfield is an area that Celtic definitely need to strengthen in, in the upcoming January transfer window. It is arguable that the club replaced neither Ryan Christie nor Olivier Ntcham in the summer. But recent transfer rumours have linked the Hoops with three midfielders at the same time. Now, it will be interesting to see who, if any of the three, the club end up making a move for.

Both attacking midfield and defensive midfield are areas that Postecoglou could do with more options in moving forward.

Tom Rogic’s injury has left them short on options in attacking midfield. On the other hand, while they do have the likes of Nir Bitton, James McCarthy and Ismaila Soro capable of playing in defensive midfield, neither of the three has shined this season.

Thus, that is another interesting thing to consider. Will Celtic try to sign a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder?

One of the most interesting players that Celtic have been linked with in recent times, the 20-year-old Brazilian is very highly-rated despite the fact that he has struggled for game time at Gremio recently.

As a result, many rumours have linked him with a move away from the club in recent times and Celtic are believed to be a possible destination.

Interestingly, Henrique has started following Celtic on Instagram recently. Make of that what you will.

Possessing good ability on the ball and a solid game off it, someone like Henrique could certainly prove to be a decent addition to the current Celtic squad. Now, it remains to be seen if the Hoops do end up making a move for the Gremio midfielder.
