Celtic might not have a lot of depth in their squad right now, but they certainly do have a lot of quality. We saw several of the players make their mark for their national teams during the ongoing international break. And one of the club’s summer signings appears to have had a great time, and should be returning to Parkhead with a lot of confidence.

That player is Josip Juranovic. The Croatian international was signed earlier in the summer and already appears to be a regular feature in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI.

He has become an important part of the Croatian national team picture in recent times as well and featured for them in their game against Russia, as they managed to secure direct qualification to the 2022 World Cup.

Of course, that should not be a huge surprise for a nation that was in the final of the previous World Cup. After the game, Juranovic shared a picture with Luka Modric on his Instagram and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Real Madrid legend and one time Ballon d’Or winner reposted the picture on his own story.

Juranovic has not made a brilliant start to life at Celtic

It is safe to say that Juranovic has been solid since arriving at Celtic over the summer. But even then, it is hard not to feel that he has one more gear, which he has not showed at Parkhead till now.

Since arriving over the summer, Juranovic has mostly played at left-back, with the Hoops lacking a clear first-choice there right now.

Many feel though that this has limited his effectiveness going forward, which was considered one of his biggest strengths during his time with Legia Warsaw.

As a result, one would be hoping that he can get a run of games at right-back soon and show what he is truly capable of, but the left-back situation at Celtic as well as Anthony Ralston’s form has certainly made that a bit difficult.
