Kyogo Furuhashi has been an absolute revelation ever since arriving at Celtic in the summer. He has arguably been the best player in Scotland this season till now and is easily one of the most important players in Ange Postecoglou’s team right now. Thus, it is expected that he is going to play a big part in any success that the Hoops end up having this season.

We have already seen Celtic struggle earlier in the campaign when Kyogo was on the sidelines, after picking up an injury while with the Japan national team. And it is safe to say that everybody around the club will be hoping that he can remain fit moving forward.

This perhaps has led to many Celtic fans keeping an eye on Japan’s games. And interestingly, Kyogo has featured mostly as an impact substitute for his national side despite his terrific form.

On the other hand, there is one Japanese player who has managed to particularly catch the attention though with his recent performances and is someone that the Hoops should have an eye on. That man is Junya Ito.

Celtic must have an eye on Kyogo’s Japan teammate Ito

Ito has scored back-to-back winners for the Japan national team. And what is more, he has already been thriving in European football for quite a while now.

Ito currently plays for Genk, for whom he has made quite the impression since arriving. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 12 goals and provided 16 assists for the club last season. And he has made an impressive start this time around as well.

Celtic have been linked with potential moves for many wingers in recent times and they should definitely add the name of Ito to that list. He appears to be a very good player and at 28 years of age, has plenty of experience under his belt as well.
