Celtic have been linked with Gremio midfielder Fernando Henrique in recent times and it is not hard to see why. He is very highly rated in Brazil and at just 20 years of age, is only expected to get better moving forward. Ange Postecoglou’s side could certainly do with more options in the middle of the park. And it looks like they have been handed a transfer boost in the race for the Brazilian youngster.
At the moment, central midfield is an area that Celtic appear to be light on options beyond Callum McGregor. Nir Bitton, James McCarthy and Ismaila Soro are all capable of playing there, but none of them have been particularly impressive this season.
Someone like Henrique could prove to be a solid addition there, although he does not have a lot of experience under his belt at the moment. In fact, he has not played much football for Gremio recently.
And as reported by ge.globo, the possibility of Henrique remaining at Gremio is remote considering his lack of football recently.
Celtic have been handed a Henrique transfer boost
Henrique is one of several players who have been linked with Celtic in recent times. Now, it remains to be seen if the Hoops do end up making a move for him.
Gremio’s Serie A season is set to come to an end in December and as a result, January could prove to be a great opportunity for Celtic to sign the Brazilian midfielder.
It must also be pointed out that Gremio are not enjoying a good season at the moment and currently find themselves in the Serie A relegation zone.
January promises to be an exciting time for Celtic fans this time around. Other than Henrique, they have also been linked with players like Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.
