Ange Postecoglou admits Celtic duo could leave on loan

Celtic do not have the deepest squad right now, which has meant that Ange Postecoglou has not had the chance to rotate his team too much till now and has had to stick with a limited number of players for the most part this season. But even then, there are some players who have not gotten their chance in the first-team this season and could have to look elsewhere in search of playing time.

Liam Shaw is someone who the club had agreed to sign this summer a while back, by agreeing a pre-contract with him. On the other hand, Osaze Urhoghide was the first signing of the Postecoglou era.

Both players were with Sheffield Wednesday before that and it is safe to say that neither of them have been able to make their mark in the Celtic first-team and are yet to make their competitive debuts for the club till now.

And Postecoglou has admitted that a loan move away in January could be a possibility for both youngsters. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Celtic manager said:

"“They’re working hard at training every day. They’re pushing themselves. I believe that even though they haven’t played they have improved as footballers. If you train every day with us you will improve.“It’s about getting them the right opportunity now. That may be here, it may be a loan deal somewhere but we’ll make those decisions come January. We’ll sit down with the boys and see what the best way forward is.”"

While Celtic might not have the deepest squad at this point of time, it is still hard to see either Shaw or Urhoghide get too many first-team opportunities at Parkhead in the near future.

They are still looking for their competitive debuts for the club and as a result, a move away from Parkhead to gain some first-team experience at a club where they will get first-team minutes is not a bad idea at this stage of their careers at all.

We have seen that system work for multiple players over the years, who have come back to become regulars in the first-team picture at the club. Current Celtic captain, Callum McGregor, is the perfect example of that.
