Celtic have recently been linked with a January move for Marco Bizot, who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois or more commonly known as Brest. Ange Postecoglou’s side do not have a lot of depth between the posts at the moment and thus, it is not hard to see why they might want to sign a goalkeeper in the near future. But even then, the recent rumours are a bit confusing.

It was only this summer that Bizot arrived at Brest. And while he has not enjoyed a brilliant start to life, and the club are just hovering above the relegation zone, it is still hard to imagine that the goalkeeper would leave the Ligue 1 side in January itself.

His recent comments regarding life at the club do not appear suggest that he is looking for a move away anytime soon, as it appears that he is looking forward to settling in instead.

As reported by Ouest France (via 67 Hail Hail), the Dutch goalkeeper said:

"“My goal is to feel good, to settle down, to learn French so that I can communicate more easily with everyone. I want us to take enough points to stay in the top flight. It’s very important. I hope to learn as much as possible by the end of the season and to develop myself on a personal level.“I do not know (about the long-term). I signed a three-year contract. It’s fantastic to play in Ligue 1. It’s my goal so now we have to aim even higher but we’ll see what the future holds.”"

While anything can happen in football and things change very quickly, even then, those do not sound like the comments of a player who is looking to leave.

Now, it must be said that Bizot is a good goalkeeper and he even appeared for the Netherlands national team last year. Someone like him could be a solid signing for Celtic, who do not have a lot of depth between the posts right now.

But even then, it is hard to see such a move happening. Joe Hart has come in and made the first-team gloves his own. On the other hand, a move away from Brest does not appear to lie in Bizot’s immediate future.

With Vasilis Barkas being linked with a January exit from Parkhead though, one must keep an eye out on the goalkeeping situation at Celtic.
