Ange Postecoglou has made a bright start to life at Celtic. The beginning might have been a bit shaky but the Hoops have steadied the ship well and now find themselves in a pretty good spot in the Premiership title race. The manager has quickly become a fan favourite and it looks like he has been able to impress club legend Martin O’Neill as well, who had some brilliant advice for him.

Now, Celtic have a lot to be happy about when it comes to their own form. The Hoops have won seven of their previous eight games in all competitions, and very much appear to be a team with momentum on their side.

On the other hand, the situation at Ibrox is also very interesting. Steven Gerrard has departed the club to join Aston Villa. As a result, the club find themselves without a manager and much of a backroom staff right now.

That could have a massive effect on their season and consequently Celtic’s. But O’Neill believes that the Hoops should be looking at themselves much more. As reported by The Sunday Post, the former Celtic manager said:

"“You have to be aware of what is going on elsewhere, but you can’t let it dominate your thoughts.“Steven Gerrard has just moved on, and that might see Rangers doing very well in the next few weeks.“Or the upheaval might see them suffer a wee bit, and they have a setback.“At this stage, we don’t know for sure what the reaction is going to be.“Either way, Celtic need to concentrate on themselves and make sure their own house is in order.“That’s always the best way to go about your business.”"

Celtic cannot think too much about what is going on with the Rangers

Celtic currently sit four points behind the Rangers in the Premiership table but they have momentum on their side, and have been rising up the table for a few weeks now.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of an effect a change in manager will have on the Rangers though. They had not looked at their best this season before Gerrard departed the club.

But if Celtic can continue improving and performing like they have over the past month or so, they will be in the Scottish Premiership title race, it won’t not matter who the next Rangers will be.
