Another former Celtic goalkeeper who could end up leaving his current club in the near future is Fraser Forster, who has been linked with a Southampton exit at the end of the season.

Forster returned to Celtic on a loan spell in the 2019/20 season and enjoyed a brilliant campaign for the club. So much so that they had tried to bring him back the following season as well.

At that point of time, it looked like Forster wanted to remain at Southampton instead and fight for his place in the first-team. On the other hand, the Hoops went on to sign Vasilis Barkas from AEK Athens.

It is safe to say that it worked out neither for Celtic nor for Forster. Barkas has struggled at Parkhead since arriving and is being linked with a January exit, after a season-and-a-half. On the other hand, Forster has played very little first-team football for Southampton since then and could be on his way soon.

Thus, does another move for Forster make sense for Celtic at this point of time, with Joe Hart having solidified his place between the posts in Ange Postecoglou’s side?

Victor Wanyama, CF Montreal

Victor Wanyama is one of the most talented players to have played for Celtic over the past decade or so. And while his time at Parkhead might not have been long, it was certainly impactful. Who can forget that goal against FC Barcelona?

Wanyama would go on to play for Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur after leaving Celtic, and for a period of time, it had looked like he was set to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

That was not to be though and after fading away at Tottenham Hotspur, he now finds himself with MLS side, CF Montreal.

Still just 30 years of age though, Wanyama has time on his side and he has already admitted that he would be interested in a Parkhead return in the future. His current deal with CF Montreal is believed to run out at the end of 2022.
