Kyogo Furuhashi has been nothing short of a revelation ever since joining Celtic this summer from Vissel Kobe. The Japanese star has come in and established himself as one of the, if not the, most important players in Ange Postecoglou’s side. And it looks like he is getting better and better with every passing game as he adjusts to Scottish football and his new team.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Kyogo has scored 13 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 appearances for Celtic across all competitions while playing 1260 minutes of football in total.

Those are brilliant stats for any player, especially one who has arrived just in the summer and is getting his first taste of European football. Thus, it is safe to say that the sky might be the limit for Kyogo.

The player appears to have his feet firmly on the ground though. As reported by the Daily Record, the Japanese star said:

"“At Celtic, I have been playing as a striker and I am really enjoying it and I am scoring a lot of goals.“But I have to give the credit to my teammates at Celtic because they create so many chances for me. I have developed a really good understanding with them and I know when they are going to pass to me.”"

Kyogo is most probably Celtic’s most important player right now

Kyogo has been absolutely brilliant for Celtic since coming in and he is one of the biggest reasons for the club’s brilliant form in recent times.

Of course, his two partners in the front three, Jota and Liel Abada, deserve a lot of credit for that as well. Both of them have been brilliant as well and it is hard to believe that all three of them arrived at Parkhead only this summer and are getting their first taste of Scottish football.

Thus, one could expect the trio to get even better moving forward and that is an exciting thought for Celtic fans to say the least. It will be very interesting to see where things go from here on forward but at the same time, everybody must be delighted with how things have gone till now. It has been a great start to the Postecoglou era.
