Another player who arrived at Celtic with a lot of expectations is Albian Ajeti. The Swiss striker was brought in from West Ham United for a transfer fee believed to be around £5 million.

And while easy to forget, he made a very bright start to life in the Hoops and it had felt like the club had pulled off a transfer masterstroke.

He would suffer an injury early on in the campaign though and since then, he has never been able to replicate that initial form.

He has been given a few runs in the first-team, leading the line, but he simply has not been able to take those chances. And now with Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis at the club, and links with players like Daizen Maeda, opportunities could be very hard to come by for Ajeti in the future.

Thus, a move away from Celtic does feel like the right step for him as well as the club at this point of time.

Liam Scales

Liam Scales needs to spend some time out on loan. He was arguably the most highly-rated player in the League of Ireland before arriving at Celtic.

But he has not gotten a lot of chances at Parkhead since joining the club. And if his playing time does not increase by January, then a loan move should definitely be considered by the club in order to help in Scales’ development.

There is no question that he has a lot of potential and his incredible versatility can be an asset to any club. Sitting on the bench is not going to help in his development though. Thus, a loan spell at a Scottish Premiership club where he would play regularly might be ideal for a player like Scales at this stage of his career.
