Celtic finally set to end five-year streak under Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou appears to be well on his way to rebuilding Celtic, both on and off the pitch, as the club continue their transformation from the disappointing 2020/21 season. In addition to transfers, tactics and playing style, there appears to have been an overall change in approach since the arrival of the new manager in the summer.

The January transfer window, for example, appears to be setting up to be an exciting time with quite a few potential signings. That has not been the case often in recent times.

And it also looks like there is going to be a change in their winter training camp this time around as well.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic will not be traveling to the Middle East this time around, bringing an end to a five-year long run. But there are plans for a week-long trip to a training base, with an European destination looking the most likely. The manager said regarding the matter:

"“We are planning for that now and we will certainly have some sort of camp. It will give the boys a bit of a break.“We just assembled this group of people together without really being able to settle them and create a real settled culture and environment with the football we want to play.“A week’s training will be like gold for us and we will certainly use that time, but there is a lot of football to be played before then.”"

That’ll come as a relief to many fans after how last season’s trip ended up turning out. While many had hoped that it would help turn the club’s season around, instead, it resulted in many players being unavailable after returning and handed a major blow to any chance that Celtic had of going on a good run in the second half of the campaign.

The tradition had started during the time of Brendan Rodgers as manager and continued on under the management of Neil Lennon as well, but this time around, the club will be heading to a different destination for their winter training camp.

This time around, some new players could arrive at Parkhead as well, with the club expected to make additions to their squad in the winter transfer window and hopefully make a run for the Premiership title. As a result, January promises to be an exciting time to be a Celtic fan.
