When Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou as their manager in the summer after a failed attempt to bring in Eddie Howe, there were a lot of doubts about him. While he had been a big success in both Japan and Australia, he had never made his mark in Europe. And many believed that the Hoops had made a bad choice. Just a few months on though and it is now hard to find many critics of him.

Postecoglou has done brilliantly with the cards that he had been dealt. Most people would have expected this to be a transitional season with very little hope of any silverware.

Yet, the Hoops, despite their early season struggles, find themselves just four points behind the Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table and are very much the team in form right now.

On the other hand, Postecoglou has quickly become a fan favourite and the supporters have already come up with a brilliant song about him. As reported by Celtic’s official website, speaking about it, the manager said:

"“I thought the biggest challenge would be getting ‘Postecoglou’ into a song, but they managed it – and credit to them!”"

Postecoglou has already become a Celtic fan favourite

We are still very early on in the campaign, but it definitely does look like Celtic have found a long-term manager in Postecoglou.

What he has done, with what he had been given is absolutely superb. Several top players left Parkhead over the summer and they made twelve signings overall. It is safe to say that this is a very different squad to the one from last season. The start was always expected to be the toughest part and they have come out quite well from it. Now, they would expected to get better from here on forward.

On top of everything else, the club could make more additions in January and the rebuild is nowhere near complete. Exciting times might be ahead for Celtic once again.
