Celtic do not have the deepest squad right now but all things considered, they have done quite well this season till now, currently sitting four points behind the Rangers in the Premiership table. But in order to give Ange Postecoglou’s side the best chance of competing for the title, the club must make more additions. And the upcoming January transfer window provides them the perfect opportunity to do just that.

There are several areas in this Celtic team that Postecoglou could do with more options in. We have also seen how much this side can struggle if a few of the top stars get injured.

These are problems that the Hoops will have a chance to rectify in January. And they must do everything that they can to make sure that Postecoglou’s side are ready to put their best foot forward in the second half of the season.

This January transfer window certainly has the promise to be one of the most exciting and memorable for Celtic in recent memory.

3 things Celtic must do in the January transfer window

Here are three things that Celtic must do in the upcoming January transfer window in order to strengthen Postecoglou’s side further:

Sign Daizen Maeda

Celtic have quite a few exciting options up front at this point of time in the form of Kyogo, Jota and Liel Abada. But an injury to even one of them would be terrible news for Postecoglou’s side.

And with the amount of football that all three have had to play recently, fatigue could certainly end up having an effect on their performances eventually if Celtic are not careful.

Thus, the Hoops could do with another signing in the forward areas. And Yokohama F. Marinos’ Daizen Maeda could be the perfect fit for Postecoglou’s side.

He has already played for the manager during their time together at Yokohama F. Marinos and Maeda is currently enjoying a tremendous season, leading the J1 League scoring charts despite not being an out-and-out striker.
