Celtic sealed a 3-2 win against Ferencvaros with the goals coming from Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Liel Abada, in order to keep their hopes of qualifying to the knockout phase of the Europa League alive. And a lot of players deserve credit for going into such a pressure game, and putting in good performances. The difference between the two sides was greater than the scoreline suggests.

Celtic did concede two goals which could have been easily avoided. The first one was just simply unlucky as a huge deflection from Josip Juranovic ended up in the back of the net. The Hoops gave the ball away in a dangerous area for the second, and one has to commend the finish from the Ferencvaros player. It was world-class.

Those two goals should not take away from the performance that Cameron Carter-Vickers put it though. He was very solid on the night and is starting to become one of Ange Postecoglou’s most important players very quickly.

Chris Sutton took notice of the performance as well. He tweeted out:

"“Carter-Vickers excellent once again at the back. Kyogo the best player in the country so far this season unplayable at times tonight.”"

Carter-Vickers is quickly becoming one of Celtic’s most important players

There has been a noticeable improvement at the back for Celtic over the course of the past few months. And one of the players who deserves a lot of credit for that is Carter-Vickers.

He arrived on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur late on transfer deadline day this summer and it has proven to be an excellent move on the part of Celtic.

He has formed an excellent defensive partnership with Carl Starfelt in the heart of the Celtic defence and even when the Swedish international was absent due to injury, he put in a very good performance along side Stephen Welsh.

Celtic have an option to buy included in Carter-Vickers’ loan deal and if he continues to perform like this, they should do every thing that they can to make his stay permanent.
