Celtic have used the loan system to their advantage over the years. Just this season, they appear to have pulled off two very good loan signings in the form of Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers. The duo have come in from Benfica and Tottenham Hotspur respectively and nailed down a spot in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI.

They are on season-long loan spells with an option to buy included in both their deals and if they continue to perform like they have till now, fans would want Celtic to make their stay permanent.

Another exciting loan deal that Celtic had agreed in recent years was that of Charly Musonda from Chelsea. He was one of the most exciting talents in world football while coming through the youth ranks but had not managed to find his feet at the senior level.

His spell at Celtic did not have a lot to write home about either and while he initially was believed to have joined on an 18-month deal, the loan spell was cut short after just half-a-season.

Things have not gone his way since leaving Celtic either and he has been through major injury issues. At one point of time, it had looked like he might have to quit football but fortunately, he has worked very hard and made a comeback to the pitch.

It does look like his Chelsea career is set to come to an end soon though. He posted a video on Instagram with the caption reading:

"“Free agent, June 2022.“Enjoying the final ride, while training and slowly getting ready for what lies ahead, with continued faith and optimism.”"

At one point of time, there were hopes that Musonda would go on to become a regular in Chelsea’s first-team and hopefully follow in the footsteps of Eden Hazard.

When Musonda came in at Celtic on loan, expectations were high as well. But, he did not get a lot of playing time at Parkhead. He was able to get an assist during his time at the club though.

We can only wish him the best of luck for his future and hope that he does well moving forward.
