Celtic came into the game against Ferencvaros knowing that they needed a win in order to keep their hopes of making it to the knockout phase of the competition alive. And they did just enough to come out of the game with all three points. Goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Liel Abada on the night handed Ange Postecoglou’s side the win.

On the other side, Bayer Leverkusen got a convincing 4-0 win against Real Betis, meaning that things could potentially become very interesting when Celtic meet the Spanish side the next time around.

Thus, things might very well have opened up in the group although the game between Celtic and Bayer Leverkusen will be very important and the Hoops must do their best to get a result out of that one and hope that Ferencvaros can do the same against Real Betis.

For the time being, this was a very positive result for Postecoglou’s side, who are now building up some serious momentum. Their next game will be against Dundee FC in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic 3-2 Ferencvaros: 3 things we learned as Kyogo, Jota and Abada score

Here are three things we learned as Kyogo, Jota and Liel Abada scored to hand Celtic a 3-2 away win against Ferencvaros in the Europa League:

Liel Abada will be a brilliant player if he can just polish things up a bit

The potential that Liel Abada has is absolutely incredible. He might have turned 20 years of age just recently but he is already making a significant contribution to this Celtic side and playing regular football.

Of course, there are a few things to work upon but that is to be expected with a player this young. If Abada can polish up his decision making a bit and be a little more careful with the ball at his feet, he has the potential to be a brilliant player for Celtic. He already has all the tools.

He scored against Ferencvaros while providing an assist as well, showing how effective he can be. And he would be expected to get only better with experience.
