David Moyes makes brilliant Celtic claim about West Ham’s rise

Not too long ago, David Moyes was linked with the managerial role at Celtic, with many considering him the successor to Brendan Rodgers. That did not transpire though and instead he returned to West Ham United for a second spell and it is safe to say that it has proven to be an inspired move as the Hammers have become the Premier League’s great entertainers and currently sit at fourth, on equal points with Manchester City.

It is not just this season though. Even last season, they did tremendously to finish in sixth and appear to have improved further over the summer.

On the other hand, Moyes has resurrected his reputation as one of the top managers in England once again, putting behind his struggles since leaving Everton to join Manchester United.

Moyes has given a lot of credit to Celtic though for the success and style of the current West Ham United side. As reported by Independent, the manager said:

"“It makes me feel really good because I’ve always said I want to be the best and the hardest team to play against – when teams don’t enjoying playing me.“When I was brought up at Celtic, it was always about winning, first and foremost. Then it was about winning with style and then when you get a good style, they wanted lots of goals. So I feel like my whole background has been in that.”"

Moyes has given credit to his Celtic days for the style that he has implemented at West Ham

Moyes represented Celtic during his early playing days and spent quite a few years at Parkhead before moving down South. After nearly a two-decade long playing career, he moved into management and has enjoyed quite a bit of success although he has been through ups and downs.

And while the appointment of Moyes never materialised, Celtic appear to have a long-term manager on their hands in the form of Ange Postecoglou, who is looking to bring attacking football to Parkhead once again after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign.

Naturally, it will take some time but the early signs have been quite positive. Now, it is about being patient and backing the manager to get it done with time. It is clear that the Hoops need to bring in more players soon if they want to challenge for the Premiership title.
