Referees have been a topic of discussion among Celtic fans recently, with some of their recent decisions having had a huge impact on results as well as the Scottish Premiership table. There have also been rumours surrounding the possibility of the introduction of VAR as soon as next season. Thus, it is not surprising that many fans have their eyes on which referee has been appointed from game to game.

After only managing a 0-0 draw against Livingston, the Hoops will know that their upcoming game in the Scottish Premiership against Dundee will be very important.

Any thing other than a win will allow the Rangers to extend their lead at the top of the table which currently stands at four points.

As one can see from Scottish FA’s website, Alan Muir has been appointed as the referee for the Celtic vs Dundee game. This will be his first Celtic game of the current season.

Muir will referee the upcoming Celtic vs Dundee FC game

Muir has rarely been in charge of Celtic games in recent times. According to Transfermarkt, he has been in charge of zero games involving Celtic this season although he has already been the man in the middle in a couple of Dundee games.

His last time in charge of a game involving Celtic was earlier in the year, last season, when they faced Aberdeen.

One can only hope that it is an incident free game, with Muir making right and consistent decisions throughout.

The Hoops will know that they will need a positive result on this occasion. Players will head into another international break after this game and it is safe to say that they will want to go into it on a high. The club have been in brilliant form in recent weeks and have managed to climb up from sixth to second in the Premiership table. Let’s hope they can continue their rise.
