Celtic missed a golden opportunity to go top of the Premiership table when they could only manage a 0-0 draw against Livingston at Parkhead. Considering the form that they had been in coming into the game, most fans would have expected the Hoops to get all three points on the day. They were nowhere near their best on this occasion but it is important to look at how far this team has come in just a few weeks.

Not too long ago, they were sitting at sixth in the Premiership table. But they went on a four-game winning streak in the league to climb up to second.

And they will retain that position for the time being despite the draw against Livingston, as both Hearts and Dundee United lost their games.

Many had written off Celtic’s title chances a month or so ago but now, it does look like a title race is very much on. Rangers legend Kris Boyd recognises that as well. Earlier, he wrote in his column in The Scottish Sun:

"“Rangers should be concerned right now about the way things are going.“Some people are getting carried away by Celtic’s recent wins and talking them up no end.  I’m not going to jump on that bandwagon.“But there is a title race, there absolutely is.”"

Celtic are in the title race but they have massive worries as well

When most of their players are fit, we have seen that Ange Postecoglou’s side are capable of putting in excellent performances and go on big winning runs.

Unfortunately though, Celtic do not have the deepest squad right now. And as a result, Ange Postecoglou appears to have very little scope for squad rotation, which has made it more difficult for the players to remain fit.

It was just in midweek that we saw Tom Rogic get injured against Hibernian and now, Carl Starfelt picked up an injury in the game against Livingston.

If Celtic are to keep up their title challenge, they will need their best players to remain fit. Otherwise, it could be a second straight Premiership title for Steven Gerrard’s side despite them not being in great form either.
