It has been a good few weeks for Celtic recently, having won five games on the trot across all competitions with four of them coming in the Premiership, which has seen them climb up to second in the table, only two points now separating them and the Rangers. News of an injury is a major blow for the Hoops though and could potentially disrupt the momentum that they have built up.

There is still Livingston to play at home this month. A win would see Celtic back on top of the Premiership table on Saturday, waiting to see the outcome of the match between the Rangers and Motherwell on Sunday.

The first-half performance in midweek against Hibernian saw Celtic play some fantastic football and take a three-goal lead, with Tom Rogic looking like the best player on the pitch. He had to be taken off just before half-time though as it appeared that he had picked up a hamstring problem.

Many would have been hoping that it was not a serious problem but unfortunately that is not the case and Rogic looks set to spend some time on the sidelines.

Celtic will miss Rogic for the next few weeks due to a hamstring injury

As reported by Sky Sports, Postecoglou was hopeful that Rogic would be back in action after the international break but he is definitely going to miss the club’s upcoming games, as the manager said:

"“He had a scan on his hamstring. It’s going to put him out for at least two to three weeks.“It’s not a major one but he definitely won’t be involved in these games. Then obviously we have the international window, and if everything goes to plan, he should be available once we get back from that.”"

While it might not be a major injury, it certainly could have a major impact on the momentum that Celtic had built up over the past several weeks.

The international break might have come at a good time for Celtic in this regard as it will allow Rogic time to recover and hopefully get back on the pitch after that. The Australian has been playing some of his best football in a Celtic shirt in recent weeks and has established himself as a big part of Postecoglou’s team.

For the time being though, it looks certain that he will miss the games against Livingston, Ferencvaros and Dundee.
