Celtic do not have the deepest of squads right now. There are many positions that they could do with more options in. But even then, there a number of players currently at Parkhead who have not played a lot of football this season.

Ange Postecoglou has done very well with the cards that he has been dealt at Celtic till now and the club have managed to climb up to second in the Premiership table despite a slow start to their campaign, which saw them sitting at sixth at one point of time.

There is a long road ahead though and we have already seen this side struggle with injuries this season.

Thus, there a few players that Postecoglou needs to give more minutes to, whether it is to keep them up to speed in case of injuries to other players or to have them challenge for first-team spots.

Liam Scales arrived from Shamrock Rovers with a lot of expectations behind him. He was considered by many as the most exciting talent in the League of Ireland before joining Celtic.

It is safe to say that things have not quite gone as most would have envisioned for Scales, till now. He has struggled to break into Postecoglou’s first-team picture and has only made a couple of appearances off the bench.

He has been able to impress in those performances though and one can only hope that he gets more minutes on the pitch moving forward.

Scales is a versatile player, capable of playing at left-back, left-wingback and centre-back. He was also known for his consistency during his time at Shamrock Rovers. Thus, he could be a solid player for Postecoglou to rely on if the situation calls for it in the future.
