Tom Rogic is enjoying a career renaissance at Celtic right now. Not too long, it was believed that his time at Parkhead was well and truly up, and he was close to a move away as well at one point of time. Since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou and the departure of Ryan Christie, he has become a regular member of the Celtic first-team once again though and his performances have backed up his inclusion.

Over the last few weeks, Rogic has played some of the best football of his career. He has been absolutely sensational and looks like a player reborn under the new Celtic manager.

As a result, the injury he suffered against Hibernian could be a massive worry for Celtic. Even on the night, he had been absolutely superb and probably the best player on the pitch before he had to be taken off with a hamstring problem.

Postecoglou’s comments following the game have provided some hope though that it could be a short-term issue. As reported by The Herald, the manager said regarding Rogic:

"“He’s played a lot for us, so he’s one I’d probably be looking to rest for the weekend anyway, but hopefully he’s OK.“I’m not that good, I’m not really sure, he said it didn’t feel too bad, so we’ll assess that [on Thursday].”"

Rogic has been one of Celtic’s best players in recent weeks

There were a lot of questions regarding how Rogic and David Turnbull would work in the same midfield. Neither of the two are known for the defensive side of their games and to be honest, they did appear to struggle early on.

But in recent weeks, the partnership has flourished. Rogic has been at his brilliant best while Turnbull has also shown that he is as effective as he ever was, both scoring and assisting for Celtic.

One can only hope that Rogic will be back on the pitch as soon as possible. He has become an important part of the Celtic team once again and with the lack of depth in midfield, there is nobody in the squad who can play his role.
