Scott Brown might have been wearing the Aberdeen jersey but he did a huge favour to Celtic by scoring against the Rangers last night. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, meaning Steven Gerrard’s side dropped a couple of points and the Hoops are now just two points behind them.

Not many could have predicted this a few weeks back when Celtic were sitting at sixth and the feeling was that the Rangers were going to walk their way to a second straight Scottish Premiership title. It is safe to say that the race is well and truly on at this point of time.

Naturally, Brown appeared to enjoy scoring against the Rangers. And he even celebrated like Alfredo Morelos after finding the back of the net.

The former Celtic captain put up a video of his goal on Instagram later on and Kieran Tierney replied ‘Class’ accompanied by a laughing and handshake emoji. Other former players like Scott Sinclair, Ryan Christie, Shane Duffy and more replied to the video as well.

Brown’s goal was a massive boost for Celtic and opened up the title race

Celtic are now just two points away from the Rangers and they are pretty much the team with momentum on their side right now. Postecoglou’s side have won four Premiership games on the trot, with three of them away from home.

That is incredible considering the fact that they had not won a game away from home for months before the recent one against Aberdeen. And that result seems to have opened up the floodgates.

Now, the most important thing though will be for them to remain focused on each game at a time and not look at the points table. The Premiership title won’t be won or lost anytime soon unless one of the Glasgow giants’ season goes completely off the tracks.

There might be a lot of excitement around Celtic at the moment but we have already seen how quickly things can change. Consistency will be key moving forward.
