The change at Celtic ever since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou has been clear to see. Of course, results have been mixed till now and that was perhaps expected with the wide number of changes that have taken place at the club over the summer. Overall, there is a lot to be excited about the Hoops right now.

They are on a four game winning streak at the moment and have managed to climb up the Premiership table over the past few weeks. Now, the important thing will be for them to carry on with this momentum.

One of the narratives around this Celtic side has been that they struggle at the back. But things have certainly changed in that regard over the past few months as well.

While speaking on Celtic’s Official YouTube channel and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, the manager said regarding the matter:

"“Look, I know people keep harping on about it, but we obviously played 2 very good teams in Betis and Leverkusen who put 4 past us. But aside from that, teams have struggled to score against us, so I don’t think it’s been that much of an issue as others have made out.”"

Celtic have improved significantly at the back in recent months

There is no question about the fact that the Celtic backline has seemed to struggle in recent years. But the recent stats do show that things have certainly improved.

Just taking a look at Joe Hart’s stats show that. According to Transfermarkt, he has kept 9 clean sheets in 18 appearances overall, while conceding 18 goals in total. But it must be remembered that 8 of those goals came against Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen over just two games.

Things have seemed a lot more settled at the back since the arrival of Hart over the summer. Carl Starfelt, who did not have a great start to life at Parkhead, has improved significantly in recent weeks as well. Cameron Carter-Vickers also looks like a solid addition while the right-back spot is very strong with Josip Juranovic and Anthony Ralston capable of playing there.

The only position in the backline that does not look settled right now is left-back and it remains to be seen what will happen there over the coming months.
