Celtic need to sign Jota permanently

One player who has definitely come in and made a difference for Celtic this season is Jota. The Portuguese winger arrived on a season-long loan from  Benfica in the summer and many were unsure what to expect from him. While he had had a brilliant youth career, he had struggled at the senior level.

He has not struggled at Celtic though. In fact, very often recently, he has been the best player on the pitch.

This was another such occasion. He put in a sensational ball from deep in the Celtic half to set up Kyogo for the opener. And his general play is improving with every game as well. He has shown that he can both score and assist recently, and is proving to be a very effective player for Ange Postecoglou.

There is an option to buy included in the loan deal and if he continues playing like this, Celtic must definitely look to make his stay permanent.

Turnbull is hitting top form once again

It is safe to say that it was not the brightest start from Turnbull this season. Often, it appeared that he was struggling to adjust to Postecoglou’s style of football.

Turnbull has never been known for his pressing or the defensive side of his game, and at times, he appeared to be suffering from a lack of confidence as well. There were even calls from the fans for him to be dropped.

Credit to Postecoglou for sticking with the Scottish midfielder because he has well and truly turned it around in recent games. Yes, there might be times when he looks a bit slow, but when you score more often than not, it does not really matter.

The goal against Ferencvaros was his eighth of the season as he is already just one goal away from matching his mark for Celtic throughout the 2020/21 campaign.
