Celtic will be going into the game against Ferencvaros knowing that they need a win badly if they are to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout phase of the competition alive. The Hoops have lost both their group stage games in the competition this season till now, against Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

Ferencvaros find themselves in the same position and thus, this could turn out to be a very open yet tightly contested game. For Celtic, there will be more than just three points up for grabs, as the Hungarian side had knocked them out of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers last season.

After a poor run of form, things have been looking up for Ange Postecoglou’s side lately. They have won back-to-back games in the Premiership, both away from home, and will be riding on some confidence. There has been some good news on the injury front recently as well.

One big decision that Postecoglou will have to make going into the game against Ferencvaros involves the left-back position.

Postecoglou has decision to make regarding Celtic left-back

At the moment, Greg Taylor is out on the sidelines after undergoing surgery. On the other hand, Boli Bolingoli, who has caught a second wind in his Celtic career recently, is not in the Europa League squad.

With Josip Juranovic also out, with a hamstring problem, the left-back spot comes down to Adam Montgomery and Liam Scales.

Interestingly, Montgomery was not included in the squad against Motherwell while Scales has not featured much this season.

Montgomery is available once again but is he ready to start just days after not even making the matchday squad or will Postecoglou go with Scales in a big European game, someone who has never started for Celtic till now?

It will certainly be interesting to see. But if Montgomery is fit to go, one would expect him to get the nod.
