Celtic have had their fair share of injuries this season. So much so that for quite some time, Ange Postecoglou had a very thin squad to pick his team from. But it looks like there is some exciting news in that regard as one of the club’s players, who has struggled with injuries in recent times, will return against Motherwell.

The recent international break appears to have done them good as it has provided some of the players the opportunity to return to fitness while others have progressed further in their journey to first-team action.

Mikey Johnston is one such player. There has never been any doubt about his quality or potential. But he has suffered one injury after the other at the senior level. He looks set to return to action though and will hopefully have better luck this time around.

As reported by The Herald, Johnston will be available for selection once again. It remains to be seen whether he will feature against Motherwell or not.

Celtic fans will be hoping that Johnston can remain fit for the foreseeable future

Johnston was one of the most highly-rated youngsters in recent times coming through the youth ranks at Celtic and showed tremendous potential when he first broke into the senior picture.

Many even believed that he could turn out to be a 20 goals per season winger. It is safe to say that things have not gone as most people would expected though.

When Johnston has played, he has been great. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 11 goals and provided 9 assists in 2709 minutes of football for Celtic in total.

But his life at the senior level has been stop-start at best as he has suffered from multiple injuries till now. If not for them, he might have even been a first-team regular by now. One can only hope that he can remain injury free moving forward and get a good run in the team to prove himself.
