Celtic have gone through their fair share of injury troubles in recent months. For quite some time, Ange Postecoglou had to pick his team from a heavily weakened squad due to injuries to several players at the same time. It must also be pointed out that the Hoops squad is not the deepest in the first place.

As a result, one would be hoping that this team can remain as injury free as possible moving forward. In that regard, this international break was a major positive as it gave the players some time to recover. As a result, quite a few of them appear to be closing in on their returns to action.

Josip Juranovic was expected to do the same after the international break but it appears that he has still not recovered from the hamstring problem that he picked up recently.

As reported by The Herald, Postecoglou revealed that Juranovic is not quite ready for a return yet and will remain on the sidelines for now.

Celtic summer signing, Juranovic, will remain on the sidelines for now

Juranovic arrived in the summer with a lot of expectations. The right-back had enjoyed a number of impressive seasons and is a Croatian international. Thus, he was expected to come in and establish himself in the Celtic first-team immediately.

It has been stop-start for him till now though. First, he played out of position a few times due to injuries to other players in the squad. And then, he picked up injury himself that has kept him out for a few weeks till now.

Hopefully, he can return to full fitness as soon as possible and get a run in the first-team at right-back. It must also be said though that Anthony Ralston has played very well there this season and looks ready to compete for his spot in the starting XI with Juranovic.
