It is safe to say that Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, Lukas Hradecky, was absolutely brilliant against Celtic in their recent Europa League group stage game at Parkhead. And he has made a brilliant claim about the Parkhead atmosphere.

There have been many top players who have played at Celtic Park in the past who have been left extremely impressed by the occasion and it appears that we can add the name of Hradecky to that list now.

Against Bayer Leverkusen, Celtic might have lost 4-0 but they did create several chances to score. But it was a combination of poor finishing and some absolutely stunning goalkeeping from Hradecky that kept the Hoops from finding the back of the net.

And it looks like the game will go down in Hradecky’s mind as one of the highlights of his career. The UEFA Europa League tweeted out comments from the Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper about the experience:

Hradecky was absolutely brilliant against Celtic in their Europa League game

It must be said that on a different day, Celtic could have scored a few goals at least. But Hradecky was just in inspired form on the night and sometimes you just have to take your hat off and applaud a brilliant performance.

It is great to see that like so many before him, he enjoyed playing at Celtic Park and even claimed that it was one of his top three experiences in European football.

For Celtic though, it was not a great result at all. After the first two games in the competition, they now find themselves at the bottom of their Europa League group, having lost at the hands of both Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen till now.

As a result, if the Hoops are to have any hope of making the knockout phase of the competition, they will need to win their next couple of games in the Europa League, which will be against Ferencvaros, another side who have lost both their group stage games till now.
